Work continues with the base of the pond. The slots that the bottom drains and pipework are filled to within 50mm of the drain top.

     

   

Next step was to start blocking up the entrance to the filter area, initially only part way up as access to the filter area will become difficult when fully blocked and much work can be carried out once the wall is just over 1/3rd high.  

      

       

From this point I am now able to fit the return pipes along the left wall of the filter area. They will exit the wall and return into the pond on the far left, just out of shot in the photo.

To ensure the pipe runs ended in the correct place, it was found easier to install the pumps and UV's in their final position before mounting the return pipes. Once the pumps etc were mounted the pipes could be fitting in position, these all terminating as mentioned earlier in a horizontal line.

                                   

A former was made to hold the pipes in position while they were cast into the wall.
