Friday 9th May 2008.
This morning I finished the plumbing on the tank that has been the topic of the blog over the last couple of days. The pump was finally turned on and without priming it immediately jumped into action. A good job done, although there are still a few things to do before the project is finished.
After having no new water at the farm for the last two days, the filters were looking well over due for a clean. As a rule, all the concrete pond filters are cleaned everyday, they struggle to make two days due to my stocking and feed levels. They took an extra rinse to get them clean enough today.
The grass has needed cutting for a few days, but due to the high temperatures, this job has had to wait. This evening around 7pm, it was cool enough to tackle the overgrown grass. It'll need doing again soon to tidy things up.
It has been so hot this week, normally the temperatures experienced inside currently would not happen until later in the summer. During the summer I open up the tunnels to give some ventilation, but it is too early at the moment, as the temperatures could easily drop. I really need the opening windows installed.
The heat has taken it's toll on the amount of work that can be carried out inside, hopefully next week things may cool and I can do some catching up.
