Thursday 27th March 2008.
The heating has been turned off on the tategoi tosai ponds ready for me to make my final selection. I plan on keeping back 150, the rest will be made available for sale.
More time was spent with the rotovator this morning, I worked my way in a little further in a few ponds and gave 14 another good going over. It'll be ready any day, but heavy rain could change that. Guess what our forecast is predicting? Rain!
I spent the afternoon harvesting mud pond 3 of the larger koi which have over wintered there. It was a bit of a challenge and my back is killing me now!
This is the third time koi have been taken from the pond, but this time all of the remainder will be harvested. Today I caught 271 and over the next few days the pond will be pumped down and the ones which were too smart for my netting will be caught.
I'm not sure these will be ready for sale at the open weekend, as I'm sure they will need some treatments. Maybe?
