The flow through the Nexus 200 in concrete pond 7 has been reducing over the last few weeks, so time has come to track down the problem. I am use to this, as it happens over a period of time.

The water on a Nexus firstly enters the center 'Eazy', then flows down the centre pipe and through the 'kiss' points out to the outer biological portion. While cleaning the Eazy with the water flow stopped, sometimes the Kaldness media can find its way through these small holes and end up on the wrong side. When the water flow is returned when the pump is restarted, often these stray media pieces block the water flow holes. Over a period, they start to trap waste and the flow becomes impeded.

To remove these stray Kaldnes pieces, you have to put your arm down the centre pipe and reach in with finger tips and nudge the media, which will them float up the centre tube where they can be retrieved and placed back into the biological section.

My Nexus are early models and I'm not sure if this still happens with new models?

Tom has not returned from his Christmas Holidays!
