Back to where I was yesterday, but this time with the memory card in my camera. I thought I'd snap a photo of how the mud pond bottoms are looking at the moment. As can be seen, the ground is very damp and a long way from drying out to the cracking stage. All I can do is wait.

Today we started collecting together the 400 larger koi I have ordered. They have spent the winter in one of the mud ponds along with some even bigger koi which will go on sale at the farm in April. While netting these I took the chance to bring in some of the big stuff.
I took this photo this morning, just prior to netting the pond. It can be seen that they are still keen to feed, even though the water is quite cool.
Notice the whale in the middle of the shot.
The others in the picture are heading off into the trade.

That showa was one of the larger koi which was also being caught.
