Thursday 10th January 2008.
Today I cut the grass along the walkway down through the tunnels, this is the first cut of the year. There is a little mould showing in places where a few pellets have been walk on and then particles transferred to the grass. This is one of the problems of having grass growing inside, there is no wind to surface dry the ground, so while it is cool, nothing dries very much and this encourages mould and fungus.
Weeds and grass are growing in between the mud ponds which have not had a gravel coating, this I have been cutting with the strimmer, but the last couple of times, I have used the petrol mower. Today while cutting the grass between two mud ponds, I ran over one of the stainless bars which hold the liner and damaged the mower. The blade is fine, but it must have sent a shock through the main shaft and has broken the 'recoil' starter!
