Wednesday 20th February 2008.
Outside today has been warmer, but without the sun, inside has been cooler.
I cut the grass today, the sunny days have set it growing at quite a rate. I've still not got around to trying to sort out a means of aerating the ground yet though.
Later I spent a while trying to help the first couple of mud ponds along with the drying process. I have placed a large fan on the bank at the deep end of mud pond 13 and 14. The fans are blowing down into the ponds and this will help to dry them. The deep end is always the last part of the ponds to dry as it is right on the water table.
Over the next few weeks I shall slowly break up the soft clay in 13 and 14 with a hoe, as it is still much too damp for the rotovator. There is little I can do at the moment, this will help things along and it makes me feel better, as it is a little progress towards getting this years breeding season underway!
Tomorrow I have some re-plumbing which I shall make a start on. More of that tomorrow.
