Return to blog calendar

Well along comes another month and with it a nice sunny day, although windy outside. Bring on the sun, I need it firstly to help dry the mud ponds and secondly to save on the oil bill. I'll soon have to think about checking over the rotovator, but not for a while!

I treated the pond of garden centre koi for flukes today, although they were still charging around, a few were jumping so did a scrape. Undeterred by the treatment, they are still charging around!

The 300 'Omosako line' shiro utsuri I had in a floating net are doing fine and have grown and little and have put on weight, so I let them into the main pond with the shusui and ochiba. Although a little smaller, I'm sure they are not that far behind and able to fight for the food. For the first hour they swam as a group back and forth along the back pond wall, but by the end of the day were 'mixing it' for the food.

I've been working hard on the Photo Album, go check out the added photos. The Koi Farm section is assembled to show the building of the farm and has made me see how far I have come since December 2003.
