Saturday 12th April 2008.
Today Cassie and I spent most of the day going through some of the several hundred nisai koi we have. It's time I sorted those which I plan on selling from the farm and those which I will let go into the trade.
Currently there are four concrete ponds with Nisai, over the next few days everyone of these koi will be inspected and relocated to appropriate ponds.
Today we checked out three of these ponds and these koi have now been placed in ponds according to my future plan for them.
We have one to go and this contains so many it will take several days to work our way through. At the end I should end up with 2 or 3 hundred nisai which will be offered into the trade.
Late in the day, I spent time in mud pond 14 tracking in the dried pond bottom with the mini digger. There is still a small strip of damp ground in the pond where the sun never gets to, I hope this will finish drying soon and we can get underway with breeding.
I'm just a little late now as I hoped to start filling the first couple of ponds this weekend, but mud pond 13 is still too wet due to the rain coming in while the roof was off. But it will happen during the next week!
I'll get a couple of photos tomorrow to give you a visual update.
