Monday 14th April 2008.
Sorry for not adding to the blog yesterday, but I'm in charge and don't like 13th's much!
Yesterday was Cassie's first full day off, although she has grabbed the odd hour here and there. I take Sundays a little easy unless there is a club visit or lots of visitors planned. Yesterday was as quiet as it gets, it was nice to take it easy and just spend sometime sorting plans for the coming weeks. I'd planned on cutting the grass, but before I did, I thought I'd push in a little further into the wet areas of some of the mud ponds. Daft idea! We've had some rain lately and a little has found it's way into the deep end of a couple of mud ponds. The sun was shining well, things were getting warm and then the wheels on the rotovator started spinning. Normally I just pop it into reverse and I back out, but not this time! It dug itself in well and truly! No matter what I did and how I pushed and pulled, I was 'good and proper' stuck. After a long while and much passed sweat, I walked away.
Having got myself so burned out, I left the grass for another day.
Today started as normal, then thoughts went onto the rotovator, how best to extract the machine from the clay which is of a consistency of potters clay. I could have just ploughed in with the digger, but that would have made a big mess, so I thought a little and a plan was formed, Cassie was to take the drive end and I would lift the weight off the wheels from the front. It worked a dream and backed out of the mush.
Once on the handle bars I couldn't stop Cassie, off she went like a kid with a new toy, she said mum would never let her have a go at home in the garden, she may get tangled up and get gobbled up by the machine!:)
Here she is, having stolen my toy!

For the last few days, the nisai chagoi in mud pond 2 have been having an orgy.
Makes a real mess of the water quality!

And then there are lots of eggs to eat, all that protein!
