Bio Security.
This is a very important aspect of my farm, I have invested a huge amount of money which if I fail means I lose my house!
So Bio Security is taken very seriously.
All parent koi which are bought from Japan are quarantined in a separate facility well away from any of my koi. Once they have been allowed to settle for a period, they are blood tested for the KHV virus. The results from this test show if the koi has ever come into contact with the virus, it does not prove if the koi could be a 'problem carrier' or not, but an 'Anti Body Virus Positive' is enough for me for dispose of the koi and ensure that there is no risk to my valuable collection of Oyagoi.
This coupled with the fact that my farm is all inside, all new water is screened and no koi is ever returned to the farm means I am one of the safest places to buy koi.
