Fitting an Answer into a Nitritech 911 Vortex
These photos show how I convert a Nitritech 911 vortex to accommodate an
Answer.
The Answer in this set-up was offset from center, to allow easy access for a
gentleman with MS to service the system. I would normally mount the Answer
central in the vortex.
The first photo shows the pipe work mounted ready to except the Answer. (Note a hole must be drilled in the highest part of the pipework, to allow trapped air to bleed from the system after servicing. This can be blocked by hand screwing a self-taper or similar into the hole).
This photo shows the rubber boot that is used to convert from the conventional
pipe work.
Standard the 911 vortex has a 4" push fit connection, with the option of
6". If you cut the 4" section off and use the 6" pipe you can
then fit a rubber pipe coupler (size 6" to 4"). Fit the large 6"
end of the boot over the inlet pipe to the vortex and then slide a suitable
length of 4" pipe from inside the vortex, through the boot and into your
original elbow leading on to the next chamber. You can then build the rest of
the pipe work to take the Answer. Build everything dry and when happy, remove
and glue all joints. You are then left with an assembly as above.
The same method can be used for the feed from the bottom drain, so as to send
the feed water in an up-wards direction and not on a tangent.
Photo below shows the Answer fitted and running.
The water spraying across the vortex is the gentleman's top-up system and is not
related to the conversion.
